Registration

  • Ride on the team bus to and from the event, leaving at 10:00pm, Thursday, November 5th and returning very late Sunday night/Monday morning. Parents will be asked to do light chaperone duty during the infrequent stops.
  • Registration covers transportation, lodging, two meals and regatta fees.

Itinerary:

WEDNESDAY 11/2
  • 2:30-5:30 P.M: Practice (trailer loading) at moss park

THURSDAY 11/3

  • NO PRACTICE!
  • 9:30 P.M. report at Spring of Life United Methodist Church
  • 11101 Moss Park Rd, Orlando, FL 32832
  • We will drive through the night (Mears Charter Bus) 
  • Meals purchased by rowers:  NONE (note, breakfast will be purchased by rowers Friday morning). Please make sure your rower has eaten dinner prior to boarding the bus.

FRIDAY 11/4

  • 7:00 a.m. expected stop for BREAKFAST (Locaion TBD, but historically at Cracker Barrel)
  • 8:30 a.m. expected arrival at Head of the Hooch Race Course
  • 9-11:30:  Unload trailer, rig boats, set up hospitality
  • 11:30-12: Lunch (provided by SORA hospitality)
  • 12-3: Practice 
  • 3:30 p.m.: arrive at Hotel
  • 6:00 p.m: Olive Garden Dinner AT THE HOTEL (provided by SORA)
  • Meals purchased by rowers: Breakfast

SATURDAY 11/5

  • Breakfast at Hotel
  • 6:45 A.M.: Expected departure from hotel (Final schedule based on race times)
  • 8:20 a.m.: First SORA race (TENTATIVE SCHEDULE)
  • Lunch provided by SORA hospitality
  • 4:45 p.m: Last SORA race (TENTATIVE SCHEDULE)
  • Dinner (location TBD)
  • Meals purchased by rowers: Dinner

SUNDAY 11/6

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • 6:45 a.m. expected Departure from Hotel (Final schedule based on race times)
  • 7:50 a.m: First SORA race
  • Lunch provided by SORA hospitality
  • 2:10: Last SORA race
  • 5:00 p.m.: expected departure from regatta
  • Meals purchased by rowers: Dinner & Snacks

MONDAY 11/7

  • 3 A.M. EXPECTED RETURN to Spring of Life United Methodist Church.  PLEASE NOTE in year's past this arrival time varied greatly depending on traffic. Current ETA will be updated via Text Alert so please make sure you are subscribed.
  • NO HIGH SCHOOL PRACTICE on Monday 11/7.

RECOMMENDED PACKING LIST:

  • Racing gear 
    • Unisuit
    • Long sleeve compression shirt (for morning races)
    • 2 days of SORA regatta gear
  • SORA polo
  • SORA jacket (Varsity) 
  • Water-resistant outer layer
  • Warm outer layers
  • Clothes for dinner Friday & Saturday
  • Pillow
  • Blanket
  • Small bag to keep on the bus (larger bag will be stored under the bus)
  • Homework
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Healthy Snacks
  • $$ for 2 dinners (Sat & Sun nights) and 1 breakfast
  • $$ for shopping (rowing vendors & regatta shirt)

PLEASE LEAVE CANDY & NON-SORA GEAR AT HOME!

REGATTA VENUE:

  • Ross' Landing, Chattanooga, TN
  • Riverfront Pkwy will be shut down for the regatta and will be walking only
  • Parking is available near the Tennessee Aquarium 
  • 1 Broad St, Chattanooga, TN 37402

PARENT/FAMILY SEATS ON THE SORA BUS:

  • Space available at a cost of $50 per rider (one-way or round-trip). Please make sure you have a room at the team hotel booked or have made other arrangements prior to reserving a seat on the bus. 

ROWERS who are riding home, after the regatta, with parents must notify their assigned coach on the SORA team bus.
